Operations Manager

Your responsibility

Responsible for all operations and manufacturing processes at the Ohio facility. Will work within the current system and in parallel will develop and implement new and modern systems including Lean Manufacturing, SAP, and various unit optimization projects. 

Responsible for managing operations, direct and run optimum day-to-day projects including the start-up of new production systems and coordination of production schedule and order processing through the shipping of orders to exceed our customers’ expectations. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring and training personnel and facility/physical plant up-keep and capital improvements in cooperation with Maintenance Manager. Preforming the needed duties personally and / or through subordinates.

Your profile

A detail oriented and highly technical individual with a thorough understanding of modern manufacturing processes and systems will; 

  • Interfacing with all departments of the organization as well as customers to increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards while driving quality improvement programs by responsibly implementing Lean principles as the backbone to ensure customer needs are met or exceeded with optimal results that both improve the performance of your business unit and the overall supply chain

Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions, by collecting and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets by developing systems and processes that track and optimize productivity to deliver daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual targets

Proven knowledge of business, industry standard equipment and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and sales) Full budget (development and adherence to) responsible for Plant standards

Stay up to date with latest production managements best practices and concepts such as Leadership of Kaizen events, 5S, SQDC, TPM, Root Cause Analysis, and Value Stream Mapping, while committing  to plant environmental and safety procedures

Coordinate with a global organization and be knowledgeable with multicultural organizations.

Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills. Encourage a trusting relationship, develop high performance teams with employee workgroups. Recruit, manage and develop plant staff by training, coaching. Address employees’ issues or union grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements

Ability to create accountability and to lead by example. Owning the operations elements of product launches. Decision making that optimizes both the performance of your business unit and the overall supply chain

Directly supervises workforce in various production and manufacturing departments. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


General management, sales and marketing, R&D, production planning, union employees, production engineers, maintenance technicians, purchasing personnel, customer service specialists, vendors and customers of Von Roll.



Education and/or Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or similar required.  Master’s degree in Business and /or Technical filed preferred. 5 to 10 years of technical management experience preferred.  Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and projects at a managerial level in driving aggressively towards goals for the good of the business
